CX255 diverted to CKG - 23 APR

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/...625Z/VHHH/EGLL

See it's dropped into CKG

This a 3 crew gig?

gummibaun 23rd Apr 2016 03:56

No 255 is not part of the 3 man trial. This was crewed by 4 crew.

London-bound Cathay flight with engine trouble makes emergency stop in Chongqing | South China Morning Post

BubbaJ 23rd Apr 2016 06:15

It's going to be fun when this happens over the pole!! Only a matter of time me thinks. WTF is HAECO doing with our Airplanes, Boeing may need to step in and sort this mess out CX might get the message one of these days the product is crap the management is crap the maintenance is crap yet they still try to blame the pilots because our shareholders and marco members are walking out the door How many more diversions do we need to make

Come on Mr Chu do your bloody job and fix this ****show

crewsunite 23rd Apr 2016 06:45

And don't divert into Thule they are still debating the minima if it's 280 or 310 feet.
Until then they won't issue the charts onboard.

Something like that anyhow..

qld330 23rd Apr 2016 07:48

how many IFSD's does it take to put a companys ETOPS approval in jeopardy?

HEALY 23rd Apr 2016 07:57

They may not of shut it down, so it doesn't count as far as I know

oriental flyer 23rd Apr 2016 09:06

Why isn't the CAD all over this and all the other engine low oil pressure engine problems we have had recently

Sorry stupid question , we all know the answer

Trafalgar 23rd Apr 2016 10:27

Way too many 777 engine problems lately. You have to start wondering about sabotage after a point.

According to one passenger, called Kelvin
Just make up a Chinese name haha, there was probably 200 Kelvins onboard.

ByAirMail 23rd Apr 2016 13:19

It's not just diversions. While listening out on company frequency , in the 20 minutes we were on frequency , 2 flights disembarked passengers due to " undetermined " technical delays

Zapp_Brannigan 23rd Apr 2016 16:03

And the 'LEAN' project for engineering is only about to be implemented.

How worse will it be?

AQIS Boigu 23rd Apr 2016 16:11

LEAN oil pressure...?!?!?!

Arfur Dent 23rd Apr 2016 19:19

Someone should ask Thomson what she would have done in these circumstances. Oh - sorry - she wouldn't know would she?? CAD?? Standard procedures my arse! MTBF would normally make HKG the 'nearest suitable' but with the Cathay induced HAECO cutbacks who knows what will happen to the other engine! And so the time bomb ticks.
Don't say we didn't tell you…………….

Whenever you find yourself looking towards HKCAD for overseeing HK aviation just remember, "On the CX Payroll, On the CX Payroll"....

Betsy 24th Apr 2016 02:30

Be fair. You fly planes, ENG fix them. They are not fixing planes. Instead they are drowned in meaningless meetings showing pointless powerpoints on how to fix planes.

LEAN in ENG? Start with the Director. The guy struts around like he owns the people.

donpizmeov 24th Apr 2016 07:32

They should have listened to cxorcist all those years ago and ordered A380s. A couple of extra engines never go astray :)
