I wish these gents all the very best in life, their selfless act, needs and should be, justly acknowledged! :D

Not Hiding 7th Sep 2014 04:11

The generosity of those who are donating is... jeez, I don't even know the word to describe how I feel. Or, maybe I do. Verklempt.

buggaluggs 7th Sep 2014 05:02

200 beans! .... Well done that man! ... Respect!:ok:

FreemaninHK 7th Sep 2014 05:19

Just dropped $50 CAD.

I would like to say, this IS political as much as it is respect to the gentleman's efforts onboard. I do not want my money going into Swires pockets. This is the first of MANY actions we can publicly take that shows us in better light than those who 'manage' us with fear.

139 donations, 4.8% of the Cathay pilots, though some of these donors are not Cathay pilots. Come on Cathay pilots, this is OUR fundraiser! It's not the amount, it's the feeling you'll get regardless of the amount.

Wouldn't you like this goal to be reached by 0800 Monday morning, when they all get back into the office from their golfing weekend?

How would THAT be for the morning coffee?

Please, not everyone reads PPRuNe or other forums. Email your friends. CALL your colleagues. TEXT your colleagues! 4.8% of the Cathay pilots? We can do better than that!

Remember, this amount was based on just CAD8- per pilot? Do you know a pilot who wouldn't donate CAD8- to a hero?

Keep 'em comin' :ok:

It's true. We now have two $500 (that's 500 CANADIAN dollar) donors.

Says something, doesn't it?

:D := :ugh: :ok:

India Four Two 7th Sep 2014 06:27

100 CAD

Great idea Not Hiding.

Well done to Li and Goomber :ok:

CX PR department continually scrapes the bottom of the barrel to achieve new lows.

Not Hiding 7th Sep 2014 06:50

OK, 17 hours before the 9th floor takes the elevator.

Let's do this BEFORE it goes viral. Such generous donations from those who have donated. However, there are about 2,700 Cathay Pacific pilots who have yet to show their stuff.

Guys, now that some have REALLY stepped up to the plate, it's even LESS than CAD8- per pilot! It's less than CAD4- per pilot to make the goal.

You DON'T want the viral general public to do it, do you?

Tell your colleagues. Four bucks. I know it's not lack of interest, it's not knowing about this fundraiser in the first place. Call your friends on vacation in Tonga. Do you think they're reading PPRuNe? Call your colleagues who DON'T read PPRunE. 17 hours...

Site was down briefly... it's back now... :-)

Oval3Holer 7th Sep 2014 07:28

Who wants to guess on the press release from CX?

"It is clear by the very limited response to this fundraising campaign that the majority of Cathay Pacific's pilots felt that our treatment of Mr. Goomber and Mr. Li was reasonable and balanced, given the situation."

If any of you have any problems and are unsure if your donation was successful:

If your donation is processed successfully, you’ll be taken to a confirmation page that says 'Donation Successful!' The page includes the confirmation number of your transaction. You’ll also receive a receipt for the donation via email to use for your records. If you do not see either one of these, your donation probably did not go through.

If any of you end up making a double donation, the extra one will be happily refunded should you so desire.

Donated.

Great idea NH.

As many crew do not frequent Pprune, or despite being AOA members read the AOA forums where your initiative is also posted, do you think you should put a notice on the board in the mail-box room?

iflyplanes 7th Sep 2014 09:47

Donated 50CAD
