Any truth to the rumour that KA are about to start DEC's?

Monarch Man, can you remember what kind these "needle type" questions were?
|
My experience was that they are looking for four things:
1) Honesty 2) some effort 3) some experience; and 4) That you're likeable. As for Dec's.. Without China time, no chance! They would stop expansion before allowing a new skipper into China with a 250 hour cadet. Quick commands, yes but less than 12 months.. Unlikely because of the time taken to do the assessment. Stage one: HR questions to stop anyone who obviously doesn't belong. Stage two: A mix of tech and HR questions to establish the four points above. The sim is a very easy generic airfield approach, go around, failure, OEI landing. Could be 320 or 330 depending on availability. Oh Hong Kong: good food, racist people, **** air quality, easy travel. TSIO. |
TSIO540, nailed it on Hong Kong, although not so much on travel, which on staffies is a bitch 75% of the time
|
I reckon even the food is overrated: little bowls of B.S. full of chemicals including MSG.

January Final Round
Please PM me if you have the final round this month/have done the sim recently!
|
Same thing as for OFO, so if anyone has recent experience about 2nd interview/sim, please PM me.

Hey Everyone
I just recently applied for the KA Cadet Entry Program. No idea what to expect and I am looking at all the potential angles to see what they will throw at me. Any suggestions as to what I should study for? Or what the stages would be like? Anything helps! Little bit about myself; I am a chinese born Canadian. I do have HKID and I currently have about 100 hours in a cessna and my Canadian Private Pilots License. Thank you!
:ok::ok::ok:Happy Flying Everyone!!!!! |

Many moons ago I did an initial interview with a little short guy and Chinese lady who were all perfectly nice until the little guy started with the needle type questions. It was all very comedic, classic good cop/bad cop, or the KA version. When Mr bad cop asked me when I would be available for a sim assessment, I asked him a question in return "is everyone at KA aware of your personal short comings?" Stage one: HR questions to stop anyone who obviously doesn't belong. How are things at Monarch? |

I'm responding as I suspect your moderately sarcastic comment regarding my former employer is merely a cheap shot and deserves a response on behalf of the many hard working and professional aviators who through no fault of their own have been royally shafted by remaining at MON. So in answer to your enquiry, "not great" would be an accurate response. However, not having been there for a considerable length of time, this information is certainly second hand.....btw you aren't short..bald..and with chips on your shoulders are you? |
What an odious person you are Monarch Man. Casting your contempt on someone because of their physical characteristics says a lot about your personal qualities. Just for what it is worth, that short bald man, an ex-policeman, is one of the fittest and physically toughest guys in the company. He is also well known as an expert at seeing through people in interviews, as seen by the fact he managed to expose you for the short-tempered, nasty piece of work you show yourself to be here. You couldn’t even fake it for half an hour!
Dan Winterland made the obvious point, you wouldn’t belong. It is clear who has the chip on their shoulder. Good job by Mike the interviewer! |

HKG is an expensive commercial city. not fit to a family. no point to stay there long. Unless plan to single forever. that may be a good choice.

Hi All, I have my initial interview with HR in Sydney this Monday (25th July). If anybody else has been through the recruitment process recently, could you please provide feedback on the questions asked and knowledge expected at the interview/s? Especially if it differs from what has already been provided in this forum in the past. Thank you very much in advance, your time is much appreciated.

It's the same interview team so your questions should be IAW the guidance here. Good luck

Hi guys,
I've got an initial interview in a couple of weeks coming up with KA. Just wanted to make sure the initial interview is simply the HR one or could it be there are also some tech questions in there too? Thank you very much for any info. FH |
