A350 on the way to HKG

One of the A350 test is on its way to HKG as part of the final stage of certification, the route proving. The first route proving flight took the aircraft to the North Pole, and landing at YFB.

Currently flying TLS-HKG direct at 37,000ft to the south of Moscow, about 20 kts faster than CX256 that is following.

Will be doing a number of HKG-SIN-HKG flights before heading back to TLS.

I bet CatPiss has had a wet dream about this already...and the other useless Fcuktard - MaWanko, has been brushing up on his visual approaches.

For a bus it's not a bad looking aircraft and it will be the first bus to fly faster than a Boeing

Flying Clog 28th Jul 2014 16:21

Still a french piece of crap though. All they've done is put lipstick on a pig.

I don't want it to be faster! That means I will have to do more sectors every year to reach my 900 hours!:*

meanagre 29th Jul 2014 00:24

Off course it's faster, it's being flown by test pilots, they don't do ECON. I suspect at ECON it will be similar or possibly slower than a 777. Can't be faster and be 25% more fuel efficient than an ER

sizematters 29th Jul 2014 00:59

shame they are gonna have no on to fly the thing................

Lowkoon 29th Jul 2014 01:53

Blue up, brown down, if it breaks, turn it off then turn it back on. How hard can it be? :ok:

broadband circuit 29th Jul 2014 02:44

Crewing......

shame they are gonna have no on to fly the thing................
Now we're talking about the real issue.

Veruka Salt 29th Jul 2014 04:25

Meanagre, LRC on the thing is 0.85, so even at a typical CX 'Econ' speed it's going to be faster than your beloved 777.

Oh boy!.......here we go:{

Isn't 'CX Econ Speed' something like Vstall+2 these days?

I've heard they'll start exploring negative cost indexes soon...

You guys clearly aren't doing enough Flaps 25 landings and RETI.
:E

Captain Dart 29th Jul 2014 07:34

And I bet it will come with that crappy RDR 4000 radar that paints absolutely everything...which will cancel out the perceived fuel efficiency by unnecessary weather avoidance and maybe some manager's bonus.

betpump5 30th Jul 2014 04:39

Rumour has it that CXorcist has taken leave during the time the A350 is in HKG so he is nowhere near the thing

Threethirty 30th Jul 2014 06:00

Apparently the 777X is coming to Hong Kong in 2023...

cxorcist 30th Jul 2014 07:37

For the record, I believe the A359 will be a very good, long haul aircraft for CX. I am not convinced by the A350-1000 though. I believe it will be short on payload range for anything beyond European ranges.

sizematters 30th Jul 2014 10:04

range will be 0 but at least the fuel burn will be 0 also

Thats the advantage of not having any Pilots to fly the things.............

should make the "managers Bonus's" all the better, eh ???

Spot the obvious error in that article:

But when leaving the ground and heading into the clear blue skies of a Hong Kong morning
It should say murky brown skies of a Hong Kong morning.
