Dan,

Thank goodness you brought that up: I thought it was just me...

Maybe in a typhoon on 25L, but on that lovely day?! And what about the armrest - his elbow is in the air most of the time!

For those who prefer a yoke

This guy must like his mug on YouTube. A320 he likes to stir the pot. F100 he doesn’t like to de-rotate.

Confused

Please don't think I'm taking the Mick or playing Devils Advocate, I'm not. Going back to the point, someone gave the statistic 10-13 G days average for HKG 400 driver - My question....Is that bad??

broadband circuit 25th Jan 2012 03:37

No, 10-13 G is not bad. What is usually bad is the duties in between the G days.

Nth American freighter patterns for HK based crew may as well read as a line of reserve. They know the day they are leaving, and that's about it. Their rostered return flight is usually followed by O days, so their return date is not even a sure thing.

White None 25th Jan 2012 03:59

Despite this being my 2nd Pruning, I'm aware of the NA patterns, life of HKG crews etc. My question, now somewhat more specific is: against what current yardstick do WE think this is bad?

Bob Hawke 25th Jan 2012 04:05

The passenger fleet, before there was integrated flying of both.

White None 25th Jan 2012 04:19

Agreed Bob, but ... "Current Yardstick" ... Honestly Fellas 10/10 for anyone optimistic enough to think we can go back to the way many things used to be, and maybe the outflow venting seen on these pages is a cathartic experience for some; however, when my last medical ended up in a long discussion with the Doc about how they should best advise the younger guys coming in who are so angry and stressed then you have to wonder whether we should look outwards not inwards and realize we're just not that badly off?
Okay - taking cover now. :O

cxorcist 25th Jan 2012 05:32

bc,

Did you forget, "freighters are rostered exactly the same as passenger pilots". It's just the disruptions and 12 day patterns that are different.

How can they even say that and keep a straight face?

broadband circuit 25th Jan 2012 15:07

I'm shocked that you're even surprised at their sheer contempt cxorcist.

Bob Hawke 30th Jan 2012 01:22

Yes, any commonality between the published roster and the real time roster at the end of the month is purely coincidential, on the freighter.
