Getting away from CX

Now that the flood gates have opened, I wanted to get away from these people too. The check and training department just are never going to change. What a bunch of jerkoffs these people are. Now we are going to get an aircraft where a lot of the functions don't work? You're kidding right? We talk about threats and the biggest threat is our own managment/fleet office.

So Korean is now offering 20,000$ USD a month. Is it better, well the money sure is! The AOA has told the memebership that we got a raise, that is a joke.

Guys are leaving in droves now and I am starting to realise you are better leaving than staying. This place stinks.:mad:

Captain Boers 5th Mar 2011 19:06

Yeah Yeah

Saturn, here we go again. I've heard this for the many years I've been in the company and you know what - few ever seem to go. This is so very unfortunate because an inability to crew the aircraft parked on the ramp is the only driver that will ever lead to a meaningful change in remuneration and, possibly, attitude.

So I'll do my bit to help:

RESIGN RESIGN RESIGN RESIGN. Get the f...ck out of here and find Nirvana

Yeager 5th Mar 2011 19:32

Just resign mate and don't look back.
Don't be bothered anymore about the wankers up on whatever floor it is (forgot).
There is just to much wanking and to little fun.
Most of us became pilots because we wanted to fly aeroplanes and have fun doing so. I had very little fun "flying" aeroplanes in CX (of course most of the time was as a sandwich officer - which I suppose is not really flying anyways:O)
Whatever lifestyle you want and what's important too you - decide from that. Don't let money rule your world - there is more to life than that - money.

There are a lot of good blokes on the F/D in CX as well - lets not forget that - But a fun, enjoyable place to work - forget it! :}

We keep hearing Guys are leaving in droves....How many are really leaving...unless is 10% to 20% of pilot force, I really don't think the company would care....its sad cause you guys are great pilot group....all the best.

geh065 5th Mar 2011 23:48

I have personally heard of 3 who have left in the last 2-3 months. I am sure there have probably been more but "droves" it isn't!

Capt Toss Parker 6th Mar 2011 05:32

Cuz ...

CX are happy with their "Henchman" every fleet has two complete lunatics that should be locked up for bipolar aggression asshole disorder ..

In a conversation I had with "NR" a long time ago .. he said they can't do anything until the pilots are willing to put it in writing ..

If you encounter one of these "tossers" put every little detail down and submit it to the training department.

Or .. embrace some type of social media campaign :E

Yeager 6th Mar 2011 07:23

The Mess aka The Joker :}

Me, I'm in F.H. having a wander around from time to time to see whats cooking in the kitchen of Cathay Pathetic Airways.. And you are right - it is hilarious to spectate.. I'm lovin' it..
In no other PPrune forum is there so much talk and so little action than F.H.

A guy needs a little encouragement and all you do, The Mess, is waste his time. No wonder you hardly have any friends buddy. No wonder. :}

G Days

an inability to crew the aircraft parked on the ramp is the only driver that will ever lead to a meaningful change in remuneration and, possibly, attitude.
So, STOP helping them out. Don't work G days. Don't volunteer for training. It ain't rocket science people! :ugh:

GlueBall 6th Mar 2011 20:01

. . . leave and find utopia? :{

evyjet 6th Mar 2011 23:05

Korean is offering $20000 a month ?? Since when?

FreqFlyer001 6th Mar 2011 23:56

KE's five major contract agencies (Rishworth, Parc, Cambridge, GAP & Euro Pacific Aviation) have all removed the T&Cs and payscales from their websites. What they're offering now is anyone's guess.But like Emirates; KE will be taking delivery of quite a few new aircraft over the next few years, so unless they really are offering $20,000 USD p/month it will be interesting to see where all the new pilots come from.

Dan Winterland 7th Mar 2011 14:45

KA is the code for Dragonair. KE is the code for Korean Airlines. Using KA incorrectly will cause some confusion on this forum!

Using KA incorrectly will cause some confusion on this forum!
No doubt.
However, it might not make a difference, as 'many' (it appears anyway) desire to run away from CX.
The bed of roses ain't what is used to be, apparently.:rolleyes:

FreqFlyer001 8th Mar 2011 00:05

You're right, I just edited the post. Thank you.

SMOC 8th Mar 2011 14:35

BA about to hire 20-30 DEPs onto the 744 if you're after a UK base you'd be nuts not to go for it.

Sand Man 8th Mar 2011 18:01

20-30 DEPs
I've heard of DEC, DEFO, DESO but what is DEP?
DEP = Direct Entry Peanuts, Direct Entry Purser, Direct Entry Pole Dancer, Direct Entry Podiatrist, Direct Entry Pensioners or Direct Entry Prostitute :}

HOWARDinOGDEN 8th Mar 2011 19:40

A good question posed by Sand Man. In my humble opinion, as this is an aviation forum, it's possible that the P in DEP is for pilot.

Prostitute was a good guess though - frequently synonymous to pilot.

Oval3Holer 8th Mar 2011 21:58

As opposed to CEPs... Circuitous Entry Pilots
