Getting away from CX
 
Now that the flood gates have opened, I wanted to get away from these people too. The check and training department just are never going to change. What a bunch of jerkoffs these people are. Now we are going to get an aircraft where a lot of the functions don't work? You're kidding right? We talk about threats and the biggest threat is our own managment/fleet office.

So Korean is now offering 20,000$ USD a month. Is it better, well the money sure is! The AOA has told the memebership that we got a raise, that is a joke.

Guys are leaving in droves now and I am starting to realise you are better leaving than staying. This place stinks.:mad:

Saturn, here we go again. I've heard this for the many years I've been in the company and you know what - few ever seem to go. This is so very unfortunate because an inability to crew the aircraft parked on the ramp is the only driver that will ever lead to a meaningful change in remuneration and, possibly, attitude.

So I'll do my bit to help:

Just resign mate and don't look back.
Don't be bothered anymore about the wankers up on whatever floor it is (forgot).
There is just to much wanking and to little fun.
Most of us became pilots because we wanted to fly aeroplanes and have fun doing so. I had very little fun "flying" aeroplanes in CX (of course most of the time was as a sandwich officer - which I suppose is not really flying anyways:O)
Whatever lifestyle you want and what's important too you - decide from that. Don't let money rule your world - there is more to life than that - money.

There are a lot of good blokes on the F/D in CX as well - lets not forget that - But a fun, enjoyable place to work - forget it! :}

We keep hearing Guys are leaving in droves....How many are really leaving...unless is 10% to 20% of pilot force, I really don't think the company would care....its sad cause you guys are great pilot group....all the best.

CX are happy with their "Henchman" every fleet has two complete lunatics that should be locked up for bipolar aggression asshole disorder ..

In a conversation I had with "NR" a long time ago .. he said they can't do anything until the pilots are willing to put it in writing ..

If you encounter one of these "tossers" put every little detail down and submit it to the training department.

Or .. embrace some type of social media campaign :E

KE's five major contract agencies (Rishworth, Parc, Cambridge, GAP & Euro Pacific Aviation) have all removed the T&Cs and payscales from their websites. What they're offering now is anyone's guess.But like Emirates; KE will be taking delivery of quite a few new aircraft over the next few years, so unless they really are offering $20,000 USD p/month it will be interesting to see where all the new pilots come from.

KA is the code for Dragonair. KE is the code for Korean Airlines. Using KA incorrectly will cause some confusion on this forum!

Prostitute was a good guess though - frequently synonymous to pilot.

Yeah right what a load of crap. It’s no secret that your hand was forced to leave due to your marginal personality disorder causing you to blame everybody else for your poor performance and your lack of a life away from work. You are now a bitter and angry loner who burned his bridges and comes on here to vent and look for confirmation he’s done the right thing. I actually feel a bit sorry for you.

Saturn let our friend Yeager, aka doughnut without a hole, be a warning to you. For all of CX’s faults there are plenty of positives. On the money issue, yeah sure it isn’t everything but it’s hard to raise a family without it. Do you really want to spend your career chasing contracts around the place explaining to your kids why you can’t be at their sports carnivals etc? If you are looking for the perfect airline good luck, it doesn’t exist.

Guys are not leaving in droves at all and they never will, the reason being that compared to most of the options CX is a pretty good gig, just don’t take some of the stuff to heart. I still enjoy going flying the vast majority of the time, but every job has it’s office w#nkers, why should flying be any different? They can often make a day at work very entertaining.

Worked recently with an Ex CX FO who is highly regretful of his decision to leave CX. He works his ass off here with many fewer days off, and for less money. He really feels he fu*ked up and knows he'll pay dearly to reverse it. He feels stronly he may actually apply to return to CX, well knowing he will likely not see the left seat for a very very long time, but feels he must leave this place.

Something to keep in mind.

* A current type rating on the Airbus A320 series, a full UK issued JAA/CAA ATPL(F) and a minimum of 500 hrs recent experience on type


or


* A current type rating on the Boeing 747-400, a full UK issued JAA/CAA ATPL and a minimum of 2000 flying hours to include 500 hours recent experience on the 747-400. Please note that a full type rating is required and 'cruise only' ratings are therefore not acceptable for this scheme

The Individual


* You will have a full UK issued JAA/CAA ATPL(F) applicable for A320

Mmmm, thats a tough one since I am sitting here in front of you interviewing for another airline :}

Q: Give an example of when you have been involved in a major change in the work environment. How did you adapt to this and what did you learn

3 major changes of SOPs in 3 years, from airbus to boeingbus and now back to airbus, I have learned CX know 5hit about flying but are good at continually re-inventing the wheel.

CX has 26 Captains at the bottom of the seniority list - of which some FO's had left and returned to HKG for DEC on the Freighter - these FO's would not even have reached their normal command on the pax fleet yet!

One thing that surprised me when I joined CX, was the amount of pilots (SO& FO) resigning whilst still on course (mainly for the "excellent personalities " of TC). I never heard of such things happening to another "major" carrier!
