Wow, a four hour transit in YVR enroute JFK. I guess not many would be transiting YVR anyhow if there are 2 direct JFK flights per day. More importantly, what will the YVR 777 roster look like?
|
Quick Q, for those that fly the 777.
If there is a breakdown on the 300ER, could the 300 be used to run to YVR and back, it obviously could do YVR-JFK, but could it be subbed in last minute and do HKG-YVR vv with a half decent load??? |
Could do it but not with a great load, in fact bugger all. Many ops problems like no 1st class, regional business seats, no crew rests so can only extend by 1/3rd of total rest (must also block seats for cc) and can only be 180 ETOPS not 204 (although dont think that would be a problem). But that doesnt even factor in the problem that all 773's are flat out!!!
|
A regular 777-300 could probably fly HKG-YVR with all the crew on board, and maybe about 20 pax and no cargo!

Focus!
Gold Eye :
I checked twice but I come up with 3:10 wait in YVR, not counting 40 min taxing. Still a long wait though. It will be interesting to see what the time shift does to the loads on a flight that has been the same for donkeys years !! If someone IS chasing you then you are not really paranoid !! Martin |
All times are GMT. The time now is 16:03. |
