Preparing for the Cathay Pacific Interview???

The book available at the Transair shop!Is it worth the 24 odd quid!!!

Flap 5 27th Aug 2001 17:26

It's only worth it if there is a job to go to. I don't think any sensible person would want to go to Cathay for a job at the moment, or they would have to be pretty desperate!

Get the book any way its lot of great info,on B747s.
On airline procedures etc.etc.
So buy the book and study hard...

Then go to the HKAOA website and read about the Ban.

Or read this ad from Flight International:

Cathay Pacific Airways Recruitment Ban

During the present industrial dispute at Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., IFALPA has placed a Recruitment Ban on Cathay Pacific Airways, Veta Ltd and USAB Ltd. This is in direct response to the dismissal of 52 pilots by Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd.
IFALPA professional pilots are reminded that they should not accept offers of employment with any of these or related companies whilst the Recruitment Ban is in force.

Please contact either IFALPA or HKAOA should you have any questions relating to this issue.

King K.

You just can't help yourself can you?

If your having that much trouble getting guys to join, why not just lower the requirements again?? Worked last time!

P.S. A hint for you would be: 1) change your log in. 2) stop making such stupid "mangement" like comments. It's all just a bit too obvious!! :D

I just got the book in the mail.It is certainly interesting reading and a great compilation of useful material. The interview questions are a great help for revision for any airline interview and not necessarily for Cathay only. It's worth a read.

I'm off to Paris in oct as well, not sure what to make of it though because of all the bad press recently, do you know what the latest situation is with the recruitment ban etc.
Probably go just for the experence as I am fairly happy in my present company.

FL245 22nd Sep 2001 03:28

fast cruiser, I have decided not to attend the CX interview in Paris in Oct. Due to recent events, and partly the salary for a second officer. Instead I have decided to take shelter in seniority of my current company. I feel that it may prove a better move to wait and apply for a F/O position with cargo in the future.
