All 777 pilots who were forced onto the 74 and went through the quick conversion are now having to complete two additional sims.
It appears the short course wasn't enough to convert someone used to the fly-by-wire 777 to the 74, with its manual flying and wide weight range. There have been a heap of heavy landings (on one day alone there were 3 AOG 74s awaiting inspection).
CX has always been a siloed company. Each department looks after itself, regardless of the overall cost to the company is higher. FOPs keeps it training costs down by running a short course. Who pays for the AOG aircraft inspections, delayed flights and pissed off customers going elsewhere?
