CX guys stuck in ANC onboard for 12+ hours
Heard on ATC a few guys begging the tower to send some plows over to their jets to clear a pathway for some stairs in ANC as they have 3 jets stuck there without anyone willing to put the stairs on and they are saying it's now "beyond a joke". Sounds like they finally got some trucks heading over.
Yikes.

There are. However they’re under the pallet loading system. So. When the hatch is open for example the loading system is disabled. And conversely when a pallet is in place it is obviously covered. With tonnes of weight.
In either event after a Pacific flight or NAM x country the outer hatch itself is likely to be frozen.
If they were really desperate then the emergency egress rope is stowed above the door. Essentially a knotted nylon rope. Great for skin grafts and only used in extremis.

Best to have mental preparation to have a good plan of action for this. Sooner or later when cathay seizes operations, the crew onboard will be on their own egressing the aircraft for one last time when they arrive at that last destination, wherever that might be.

Pop the slides, obviously, accompanied by a gleeful "Wheeee!"

Need some additional information. Flew in and out of there for 17 years, never heard or seen such a thing.
Runways, taxiways and ramp always plowed. If the snow was that deep how did they get to parking spot? And
where was CX/Pegasus maintenance to help?
