UK & EASA Initial Medical
Hi All,
Is there anywhere in HK where I can get my initial UK and EASA medicals done? Any doctors that are approved by both authorities you can recommend?

Initial has to be done by a CAA approved AME in the UK, and is a more stringent medical than the renewal. There aren’t that many of them these days ( think outfits in Harley Street, Gatwick and one, I think, in Birmingham). You also have to access the CAA portal to set the process in motion. Once in hand, RENEWALS can be done by approved AME’s in HK, provided you don’t let it lapse. If so, initials again.

I used Heathrow Medical just off the Bath Road to complete my UK initial again as it had been nearly 10 years since I renewed it. The initial is rather stringent, the price very expensive and the waiting and processing times very, very long. All in all not a very pleasant experience.
