Atlas Air is hiring Canadians

A personal friend is the Chief Pilot of the 767 fleet at Atlas Airlines. They have obtained a visa waiver to enable hiring of current or ex Cathay canadians. If anyone is interested, please pm me and I will pass on the contact details. They are looking to hire hundreds of pilots in the coming year. Good luck to all.

I should clarify that I understand positions are available on all fleets, not necessarily the 767

Dear All, due to overwhelming interest, I have provided the information directly to the HKAOA. Please feel free to obtain the details from them. Good luck to all. My understanding is that any and all ex or present CX pilots with Canadian citizenship can apply.

I emailed with a Senior HR person directly. It is not as advertised.

They are trying to do something, but it might be a very long time.

(My HK license is both B747 and A330).. as is my FAA ATPL.

---------------Thank you for expressing an interest in Atlas Air. We are a global leader in outsourced aviation providing cargo, charter, leasing and passenger operations – we move the world forward, bringing 30 years of expertise to support our customers.

The Company is an equal opportunity employer and considers applications from all qualified candidates. In compliance with federal law, all individuals who accept an offer of employment with the Company will be required to verify their eligibility to work in the United States prior to commencing employment. As part of your application, you indicated that you will need to obtain authorization to allow you to work as a pilot in the United States. This process will need to be completed before you can begin employment as a pilot with Atlas Air.

At this time we are currently experiencing long delays with USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Services) in processing Company-sponsored immigrant visa applications and current turnaround time can be up to 24 months. We are doing all we can to expedite this process for candidates.

If you are independently pursuing work authorization, we encourage you to update your application once that has been granted.

Thank you again for your interest in joining our extraordinary team! We will be in touch with additional information regarding our interview and application process.

Best,
Atlas Air Talent Acquisition Team

That is a form letter. The Fleet Manager contacted me directly a few days ago and said they have approval. Beyond that I do not have further info. I suggest anyone interested contact the Fleet Manager directly on the matter. The HKAOA has the contact info.

100% BullSht

"I would like to introduce myself as the HR representative responsible for US work authorizations for incoming foreign pilots.

Unfortunately our ability to hire Canadian pilots is a rumor.

At this time we are only able to process Australian citizens because of the non-Immigrant E3 Visa they require to be work authorized in the US.

All other nationalities, including Canadians, require an Immigrant EB2/3 Visa and we are experiencing long delays with USCIS (United States Citizen and Immigration Services) in processing these applications with current turnaround time up to 24 months.

At this time Atlas do not have a timeframe to start offering Company sponsored Immigrant Visas.

I am aware of a number of Canadian pilots candidates applying for their own personal EB2 Visa (Green Card) via the National Interest Waiver and I would be able to provide you with a CJO should you decide to pursue this option.

Thank you again for your interest in joining our extraordinary team and please do not hesitate to contact me should I be of any further assistance.

Best Regards

Karen

Exact same reply I got, from the exact same person!

Furthermore, no such contact details exist in the HKAOA.

Bovine manure post!

Update from my contact at Atlas: "they are working with individual Canadian applicants to get visas on a case by case basis". Apparently it is the Canadian Govt that is the roadblock, not the US side of things. Regardless, she encourages each Canadian who wishes to join to apply, and they will begin the legal process of obtaining a visa in each case. Ms. Ruiz de Castilla can be contacted directly at the telephone number provided to the AOA. She will be happy to discuss individually. Good luck to all interested.

Anyone in the know what a "CJO" is? Company job offer?

Atlas, the airline most American pilots try to avoid like the plague. Funny how the world works, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Thanks. In other words "we will hire you once you have the right to work"?

Why is that? Not doubting that it is the case.

Others have said correctly a conditional job offer, conditional on background check, drugs test and flying record verification. After the Colgan Air crash the Us airlines take all of this very seriously and rightly so

Their management HATES its pilots, it’s a very toxic management against pilot environment. But, I suppose that would be nothing new to CX pilots.
