Last base to close

Any talk of review or consultation is a lie. The USA bases will close. Those without PR will be terminated. Another nail in the coffin of CX.

All the best to those effected. At least these are the best of times to be an experienced pilot in the USA.

The writing has been on the wall ever since the rest of the bases were closed.
At least the US based pilots have had an extra year of employment over what the other based guys had, and they’re based in a country with a growing market, where their chances of re-employment are better than what their colleagues of last year were faced with.
Either way, sad times for those affected, best wishes to all.
For what it’s worth, from a mental health and family life perspective, life outside CX is REALLY good.

Any Cathay pilot with the right to live in the USA has also got the right to work.. they can pretty much pick whatever job/ company they want right now, albeit at the bottom of the list.
