Under the current CoS 18, the redundancy doesn’t need to follow seniority, guys with higher seniority will also have the same chance to be laid off.

It’s really up to you at this moment and believe it or not.

honestly absolutely ridiculous, quit fear mongering. Volunteer if you want or dont, if they dont get enough volunteers they will just move people in reverse seniority

Firing Plan? 🤣🤣🤣 the resignation rate is so high, even the clown show that is the turd floor have figured out it’s unsustainable.

See, the problem you have is you’re still working under the misapprehension that ruling by fear works. In case you aren’t aware, nobody at CX gives a flying f&$k about anything, including whether they stay. In fact, for a large number, getting fired would be a blessing. It would force their hand in something they couldn’t bring themselves to do-quit.

🤣🤣 firing plan- good one

It's a moot point chaps. Cathay will be relegated to aviation history in about 6-12 months. You can all squabble over the deck chairs until your heart is content. It's rather entertaining.

FC gets it and additionally, there should be no further references to "seniority" as it's only used by the 3rd floor incompetents attempting to troll those who cluelessly still believe in it..

Haha seriously? Is this supposed to scare the 777 crew? It’s almost a reason not to volunteer. No one cares….

Why should ToCat prove a negative? I’d rather hear your justification JJ....

CX is / was the best paying, non flying pilot job in the world the past two years. Collect the paycheck ( albeit less than previous COS 1993, 1994, 1999, 2008 B scales)

CX took away all the seniority, cast highly experienced pilots overboard and decided to move on.

face it, they are just not that interested in you. it is time move on.

Who cares though?

I agree with RB - being forced wouldn't really bother most people anyway. I have yet to hear a genuine regret story from anyone who lost their job voluntarily or due to a base closure/refused to sign the POS. Some annoyed, hurt and offended at first but after a few weeks mostly glad.

Turns out that under Cos99/08 the redundancy clause wasn’t what we thought so not much different now

yawn.........what's wrong you are junior and are scared of being sent to the 747? Anyhow, no way anyone in this airline is losing their job if they hold PR and we are employing work-permit holders on any fleet, after all the work permit holders are gone then and only then might we see 777 pilots who hold PR losing their jobs.

Unfortunately the 747 is an ac you have to land without much automation. Too difficult for some who will be cast aside.

oh get over yourself. It’s just an aeroplane.

My roster, blah blah blah……..oh woe is me, blah blah blah……HTFU. Airbus pilots are sucking it up now, as they always have done.

OMG the 747 is the easiest to land out of all of them. As long as you remember to bring the power to idle..

  1. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business...usands-pounds/sound familiar?

  2. sound familiar? No thought not. It’s behind a paywall but the headline says enough. Cabin crew 10% of salary and pilots 5%. Better than the current CX kick in the slats for sure.

If only they will reinstate housing, they will stop the brain drain.
