How sad is that! Not only for Rebecca but for all Hong Kong people.

But Cathay have a track record of bastardry. They set up the Cathay Cabin Crew union president in the early 90's, a Filipina who had successfully taken their union through a strike so she had to go even on trumped up charges. Another face without honour exercise. Thankfully she won a long legal battle against CX and a hefty pay out. Thats not going to happen for Rebecca, not in the NEW Hong Kong.

A number of pilots were sacked for the same reason (Excluding the the two SOs and captain who made the PA). Yet the silence of the AOA is deafening. At least provide them with legal supports?

This is an act of tyranny with the might of a totalitarian country behind it that will consume the whole profession eventually. Don't think any of us can stand aside and stay clean of it.

I wonder if CX is asking PPRUNE for the identities of people who have expressed "incorrect" (according to the CCP) opinions here? The Sticky on the front of the forums makes clear that PPRUNE doesn't guarantee anonymity, so some postings here could be career-threatening.

Paul ; of course. The big mouths of the past have been silenced but, frankly, you & I would too. Also, very busy packing up and readying to move out, I hope .Shades of the Etihad silencing. Gagged but worked a treat. Freedom of speach blighted by the serious bullies of the world.

The mainland is run by bigots and its a tyranny. I work for an airline who operate to China and we check in at CX city . I fly and talk to my chinese and expat FOs about the hatred the Chinese government has for all things HK; its freedoms and largely liberal society so loathed and envied by those in Beijing.

we talk about our kowtowing Swire sucking mangers, throwing individuals to the lions to preserve their status and the economy that feeds and breeds the crumbling state of HK.

I support those who challenge Beijing . I donate to those who want to close the airport and threaten my employer. I will spread my views as long as I am able. Together we can be the cancer that kills the Cathay Pac crappy.

Public Service Announcement

In light of the sacking of Rebecca, the following social media activities are no longer allowed:

- Posting a Happy Birthday to any of your colleagues
- Posting where you going in the world
- Showing shock and support for employees who have become collateral damage.
