Airport Condition Announcement

The pilot, flying to Hong Kong from Tokyo, was recorded as saying in his pre-landing announcement: “At the moment, there’s a very peaceful and orderly demonstration at the Hong Kong International Airport arrival hall. All the demands [are] to withdraw the controversial extradition bill. So at the moment everything is pretty quiet pretty peaceful, so don’t be scared by all these people wearing black and sitting in the arrival hall. Actually, do feel free to talk to them to know more about Hong Kong if you want to. Last but least, Hongkongers add oil, and take care.”

Well I guess he just disqualified himself from flying to/over China!
Since it seems that very few CX/KA crew enjoy China flights it seems to me that doing something like this to get themselves on the no-fly list improves their rostering considerably!

For years my China PA's have included commentary on the pollution or what not.
If China thinks ANY of us are 'pro China' they are delusional.

It was only recently I stopped leaving print outs in Mandarin of Tiananmen Sq massacre around the crew hotels.
My of us have been silently doing things for years.

What do you reckon any Cockroach that arrived this weekend from the mainland thought when they saw the protest in HK.
They certainly didn't think that HK'ers are their country men.

Dear China.. for as long as CX flies into China, we will quietly fight against your tyranny.

It is the quiet, polite yet gentle responses to the tyranny of dictatorship that is the most unnerving. Their tyrannical model requires violence.
Nobody with any sense of history has forgotten Tiananmen Square massacre, despite the very best Orwellian attempts to erase it.
The antipodes are awakening, albeit very slowly to the reality of the "modern Chinese Miracle"
Students at Australian universities attacked by Mainland Chinese students (full fee paying no doubt) to the cheers of the Embassy.
China cannot afford the optics of HK and this time many more are watching.
