Cool OK for some...

I’m sure all those in receipt of the HK$2000 bonus will be the first to congratulate the sparkling performance of the Swire family on the Sunday Times Rich List: from 39th to 27th richest in UK by means of a rise in assets from £3.3bn to £5.08bn in just a year!!

Their business strategy has worked well if your only intention is to fill your own coffers. Old style 'mill owners'. CX could have remained as a magnificent place to work with pride. Instead, Merlin and his Family have turned Cathay into a mean spirited LCC with not one of our cowardly Managers ever having the guts to object. Shame on the lot of you.

Yep, it’s one thing to work for bad people. It’s something else to be complicit in their nefarious and pocket-lining schemes to steal from vulnerable employee groups, all the while destroying a special brand built by generations of hard working predecessors.

Cathay was the "dream" job of my younger days in the early 90's(I am sure, as SO that dream would have been smashed even back then very fast, but hey, dreams of boys), thanks god(I must say) terms changed pretty fast and Cathay was not very interesting anymore for experienced pilots(at least for most of us).
Hong Kong itself is a nice city for a week or so during layover but living in that mess is a different story. Greener pastures nowadays are somewhere else, even the location may be significantly worse then HK.

Just another company that went from nice to worse due to greedy owners.
