Have you not noticed, very few aviators joining CX and quite a few leaving. This forum too will only get worse.

Pilots leaving CX? Anecdotally, the flood-gates are about to open. Speak with any pilot in the middle two thirds of the seniority list: they are either applying, interviewing or awaiting course dates with other carriers. Further, they each know many, many others doing the same. Draw a statistical map of the interconnections amongst pilots-who-know-pilots that are leaving CX, and you quickly surmise that this airline will soon not know what hit it. A bit of evidence: a long haul flight I did last month, all THREE of my other pilots were leaving. Not "perhaps", but simply awaiting the start of their course dates. The company can't afford to give us even half our annual leave: do you think that would be a problem if they had enough pilots? The recruiting department is in disarray: the entire team left for Qantas a few months ago, and the current bunch of know-nothings are floundering around basically resorting to lying to even get people to attend an interview (look at the PPRUNE letter from an interviewee a month or so ago, where he basically called out the CX recruiters as desperate, clueless and basically lying sob's). Other than that, everything is just fine at CX

in that 20 yr period, there has never been a developing pilot shortage as there is now. Further, the exodus has already begun (approx 6% per annum...and increasing). Combine those factors with a deaf, dumb and blind management and you can be assured AP's comment is valid.
