This Week

This week expect to receive meaningless platitudes from the CEO, DFO and GMA wishing everyone a happy CNY and everyone hoping the agreement with the pilots will be signed off. Of course you can divide those good wishes by one third since all other CX employees got 3% and we are only being promised 1% .If by next week the vote is ACCEPT then the bases will be put back on hold and any pay negotiations hit into the long grass. But if we vote NO then within hours the DFO and GMA will be history. RH will prevail to appoint new managers and the board in London will direct a speedy conclusion to events.
Watch this space.

When the NO is announced, there will be no blood letting by Swire, that would be a loss of face. Expect wringing of hands expressions of disbelief and disappointment and a period of silence.

The GMA is an up and coming attack dog out to show his mettle. The NC was on its hind foot with resignations, the lead negotiator out to prove how brilliant he was and willing to sell many demographics within the CX pilots out with his "nothing for anyone tactics and bargaining." The GMA exploited that, attack when the enemy is weak and least expecting.

In the weeks to come the GMA/DFO will tighten the screws. Pay rise 1%, last one ever, HKPA ha, RPs=AFTLs where we decide. Get these new joiners in on POS18, flood the ranks and dilute the population.

The 3rd floor is acting like they know the result already, letters have gone out to line captains to test the water for training positions. Interesting Times. (Again)

I really hope the vote results are verifiable. It might not be a bad idea to have the vote count supervised by a disinterested 3rd party or at least a member who is NOT voting yes.
