Cool

Where's Tinass? He's usually right behind 411's posterior, and I fully expected he would have posted one of his gooffy one-liners by now - although the old timer is doing a pretty good job of displaying his NON-business, non-industrial awareness/knowledge all by himself!

Just a shame that the Federation in Australia didn't take the same action against a couple of pilots who took advantage of the work put in by the union, on behalf of pilots (e.g. licence insurance, salary and allowance increases, travel benefits, accomodation standards). They turned out being the noteable SCABS in 1989 - the FIRST ones to put the boot into their fellow pilots!

shortly, please excuse what may seem like an obvious question, but what is the relevance of the TWU?

Of no particular relevance, just one of the unions I have been in during my working life. And no I was not working for an airline or in aviation at the time. Lot younger and wiser - or perhaps I thought I was. You know when you are 17 you know all the answers and when 70 realise you didn't even understand the questions. As a real laugh for those who can make of this what they will, I was an organiser for the ALP in them days, even knew Gough Whitlam pretty well.

Jesus Shortly, Gough Whitlam! You know he started a business venture called Whitlam Chicken in competition to Kentucky Fried?
Didn't last very long, nobody would buy his product. It was all left wing and a#seholes!

Shorty your posts lead me to the conclusion that you may be imbibing rather too much red wine. Suggest you stop while you are behind (not original unfortunately) or only post on bulletin boards after drinking green tea.

Cheers old boy.
