Dummy Guide to Ice Pirates response

Bla bla we are pretending to listen to your bleating but really, just get on with it. Although we will admit you guys have the crappiest rosters and lifestyles in CX, and even though we are printing money on cargo right now, if we do give you anything meaningful we want something in exchange. For any change requiring a change to your COS that we deem to be an improvement, no matter how minor, you better believe we will be asking for something major in return (84 hr limit, Arapa, overtime, PF, your firstborn)

Vacancy Bidding System (Transfer between Fleets)

Requires extra training so we want something in exchange, like the end of the TB.

Table X Recovery is Insufficient

We sometimes give you more, so quit yer whining

HDP and Duty Day

Oh, you want a change to your COS? Give us your 84 hours! And an end to the TB, goes without saying

1:1 PX/PT credit

Blablabla no change

G-Day Compensation

I will totally ignore the actual question here. If your dumb enough to work on your G days voluntarily we will continue paying you a couple extra peanuts and yes, if you get delayed into your G days, tough titty as always

2/2 WOCL Supernumerary Crew

We have looked at these and yeah, you will continue doing them. The few stopgaps we have implemented will be temporary in nature, and might be quietly removed down the line (not required by FTLS!) like the third man on DEL-FRA flights

PXing on CX Food Allocation

A (very) minor win here, if you can consider getting back what we always had a win

PT Travel in Economy Class

We are not the ones who have to travel in a middle seat at the back of Economy squished between two sweaty backpackers in the monsoon season with three hours of delay immediately prior or post operating, with everyone staring at our uniform and wondering what kind of a cheapskate outfit we work for to be sitting there. So, no change.

Acknowledgement of Duty Changes & Simplification of Disruptive Change

Instead of dealing with the real issue of why disruption is so bad on the 747, we will push some OCN software onto your ipads so you have no excuse to not acknowlege changes. We spent so much on those puppies we want to take advantage and circumvent any future CC. Watch this space, little brother.

Crew Operations decision making

a) that one rule that sort of protects against ridiculous duties being assigned on reserve? Well, it usually doesnt apply, folks

b) see above... we love our reserve flexibility and are not going to give it up

c) it says not necessarily which means we can do whatever we want. I will aditionally and gratuitously blame CC for this even though we had been doing this regularly for the last twenty years, well before CC came in.

d) cannot believe you guys were dumb enough to go for free reserve, we will take full advantage

CMP Requested Days Off

Since we think eventually PBS will come in and change things, we cannot be bothered dealing with this

2018 Allocated Leave

We have never been capable of dealing with our manpower levels properly, you will continue to pay the brunt for this. When we discover on occasion that we actually have too many people for the required task, we will release additional leave and make it look like we are being generous

Family Travel on the B747

As an airline we have dragged our feet on this one for so long (CAD wont allow it! Other staff will want it! Too complex!), that now there might be actual impediments outside of our control. Oh well.

Finally, an encouraging word on commuting

Yeah, right, dream on

Were you expecting anything else from a manager who didn't improve a single thing or didn't make a single sensible decision in her years as DFO or GMA?

I hope the "Ice Pirates" will have the opportunity to bypass her to reach a semblance of improvement in their lives.

And lives are the main topic here, not "lifestyle" as managers love to mention.

You tell lies!!!
Our GMA has done a lot for the 747 fleet

Illy coffee,
shoud have been a nespresso machine like other operators but then CP, decided against.
CP Also responsible for Shiite galley. Fosset and sink don’t line up as example.

A coffee cup tray,
never seen it but I hear it’s a good frisbee on the upper deck,
nobody uses it or that brown thing you should hang on the pedestal.

so much money wasted on crap!
Just ask your pilots where to save and what we actually need.
