Passed away after a valiant battle with the big C. RIP John, one of the nicest men it was my privilege to fly with.

Yes - a really nice humorous guy and a gentleman in every sense.
On the same CX course and later bore his medical issues with fortitude, embracing GA in his Jodel.
Last met up unexpectidly at Compton Abbas airfield a few years ago when we had both arrived for lunch and had a pleasant afternoon.
