The plane hit the vehicle or the vehicle hit the plane?

It appears that he is swerving, heard people speculating heart attack and suicide, but could it be he was just not paying attention and only swerving towards the aircraft engine just because of the suction of the engine? It's a light van with a relative large surface; will more then usual be affected by wind..

Got to love machine translators . . .
" Truck severely damaged the right side of the body, the left end of reel tire, the driver was trapped inside, aircraft engine truck crashed through the roof and windshield, and the driver's head is being, the situation is extremely thrilling. Some people see an accident alarm alert fire arrived at the scene, rescued the driver of a vehicle, the police and the fire still at the scene investigating the causes of accidents. "

The other interesting aspect in this is the airport has designated taxiway crossing points for vehicles.
This vehicle is well outside the painted lane markings for vehicles prior to the impact as seen on video.

I can't help but wonder if this is similar to an accident we had at a race about 12 years ago at Portland International (PIR) - in a 35 year racing career the only fatality I ever encountered at the track.
The PIR back straight isn't really straight - it's a gentle curve to the right (sometimes called 'the banana straight'). A driver was going down the back straight at speed (~140 mph) when he simply stopped turning (a good friend was following him at the time and literally 'saw the whole thing'). Although there is considerable runoff before the barrier, his car continued in pretty much a straight line with no apparent attempt to change course until he hit the barrier . Hitting at shallow angle, the car crawled up the wall, flipped and rolled - the driver was dead by the time rescue crews got there .
All indications were the driver was incapacitated by some acute medical condition (IIRC, the driver was 70 years old). While the medical examiner said he died from blunt force trauma, I'd like to believe he was dead (or at least unconscious) by the time he hit the wall.

Lets think about this incident like this. Guy drives a truck into a big aircraft, carrying lets say over 200 people, on an International airport. Any good airport security management would now be thinking, due to it being posted all over You Tube and no doubt on other social media, ''what if the van was loaded with explosives in one form or another'' There should be security consequences, but will there be?

If you are a pilot I must say your talents are wasted, you should work within the government, health and safety would be ideal. I am sure you could come up with a number of knee jerk reactions that do little to improve security but are very effective at slowing everything down. Why not ban all air side vehicles as any of them could conceal explosives, the catering trucks could even conceal a crude nuclear devise. Everything should be done by hand, delivering single items at a time on bicycles.
I must have missed the report about the explosives.

Uh huh falcon12, I think that somehow most airports have figured out that allowing vans into the restricted area loaded with explosives is a bad idea regardless of them then running into an aircraft or not. Which is why they tend to have these things called "secure areas" and "searches" and "security gate posts".
SloppyJoe. You are still allowing people to wear clothes? They could have explosive vests on underneath! All workers and passengers at airports must be naked.

Security at airports is only is as good as the threats it knows about. It's the terrorists who thinks up the threats so the security system has to learn how to think as a terrorist to put up a viable defence.
From my experience, someone somewhere will be looking at this event and thinking in the manner described. Or maybe they will continue to believe that 'searches and security gates' are enough. Where there is a will there is a way.

Why would they want to go through all the trouble of getting past airport security? Why blow up a plane? These terrorists don't hate aircraft, their beliefs are not anti aviation or the hatred of people who travel. It is about striking fear into the masses.
Central station during rush hour, far easier, far less risk, far more fear.
Like I said, knee jerk reactions, without thinking about anything really.

Sloppy Joe,
If you know anything about security you should know it is about threat analysis first then reaction. Sometimes you have to knee jerk, e.g Paris/Brussels, but that's what the public want to see, for obvious reasons.

I find it hard to compare what happened in Brussels and Paris to what happened here. An airport employee crashing a van, with no trace of explosives, into a +200,000kg jet, with absolutely no indication of malicious intent. How you have made the connection between this and some perceived terrorist threat is hard to understand, comparing it to actual horrific attacks even harder.

Sloppy Joe,
You obviously have not had any experience in security and the thinking of a terrorist. I respectfully suggest you read up on it somewhere as I am no t about to go into an in depth explanation on a public thread like this.
