CAREER DECISION

Gentlemen and Ladies, today will be the moment where you will individually and collectively make a decision that will literally decide the value of your entire career. It is easier to throw ones hands up and say "it's all too hard", and vote for the 'easy' money and labour 'peace'. Well as Winston Churchill once famously said regarding Neville Chamberlain,

"You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war"

The point of that is simple: the 'easy' decisions usually (and in our case, fatally) prove to be the most damaging. This TA is nothing more than a bribe, disguised as a 'negotiated settlement'. It buys off the younger and less experienced with a few dollars today, at the long term detriment of EVERYTHING of value that an airline career should encompass. I encourage every one of you to ponder WC's wise words of warning. Stand up for all that is worthy and honourable while you can still stand. If this gets voted in, none of us will be standing ever again. This could mark the day that Cathay Pacific and it's glorious history and reputation were finally sunk by the greed and shortsightedness of not only the management, but by it's own aircrew. Don't let yourselves be part of such a travesty. Vote NO.

Best thread yet. Could not have said it better myself. Vote NO.

Now, if this does pass, a lot more will leave. The new TAs in the U.S. alone, make this place like a commuter airline. So many have left and I think the numbers are larger than both the AOA and company are letting on.

This TA, as I have already said, is a test by the company to see how low we will go. Simply say NO again and fix what needs to be fixed.

A clear directive must be made to the AOA leadership though as to what is and isn't acceptable.
