Director General of Civil Aviation, Hong Kong

Please read this:
Exit door: Hong Kong?s controversial aviation chief replaced | South China Morning Post

One good news:

He is counting down, tick, tock, tick, tock,.......RIP!

One (at least) bad news, the first bad one is:

He will be our new DG
Study his gesture, he meant "I can cover the whole sky with one hand" and demonstrated hegemonist manner ( 隻 手 遮 天 ).

Ah yes, making officials publicly accountable in Hong Kong. Why don't we just vote them out? Ohhh, wait...

Yep, not in our life time.

Yes, next in seniority will get the job. Government, that's the way it works; absolutely nothing to do with whether they are qualified, have knowledge of the technical aspects of the posting or (gasp) whether they are any good at all...

Come to think of it, I know another company in Hong Kong that works in exactly the same way.........!!

Just in time for Tony Tyler to slide into the hot seat.
One of the key selection criteria for any aviation related management position in HKG seems to exclude anyone who has actually holds relevant industry qualifications.

You could be right on the ticket there with TT.

A business man is good at maximizing profits, most of time for himself only. unless there are real business competition. ask those work in PCCW how was it liked before it was sold.

FYI, hands, forearm, face, head, feet, nose (some include mouth/ears/more) have to be cleaned (generally 3 times each) before going into the empty room where everyone pretends to present themselves to their silent, invisible god to declare their love and admiration for him, tell him how great he is, thank him for being so great, pledge their devotion to his invisibleness and lack of communications, etc., that kind of thing. Five times a day, every day, and also just prior to strapping on explosives to take out infidels, etc., and various other celebrations.

Brilliant, just brilliant I'll pinch that if you don't mind..

Keep Calm and Wait for the Big Day

Quoted from SCMP:

"Why safety fears over Hong Kong’s new air traffic control system are groundless
P. F. Wong says given the stringent testing that has been carried out, the more technologically advanced system is good to go, marking a new chapter in the city’s aviation history"

flying.zodiac listen to this story

The shadowing operation was conducted Monday+Tuesday, the results were sucktifactory as there were only a few crashed controller workstations. Controller would be given a two-wheel scooter at work so that they would escape faster when the workstation crashed catastrophically.
