The Friday Flyer by the DFO

She says we need to talk, well, we have been telling you the issues since you were GMA, none of which you fixed.

Check and Trainers... You have ignored them. They should start quitting. Putting more demands on the simulator instructors is a trick. I hope they catch on but you want to talk.
Housing/HKPA...ALL pilots should be on FULL housing-PERIOD. HKPA is only another degradation to our Ts & Cs. It will cost you more as people are leaving and just wait for the BA open house but you want to talk.
Rostering...Yep still no deal and this new rostering system, which will be run by the same problematic people, is years away but you want to talk.
Type Transfers and Out of seniority commands...Yep still going on and senior people are stuck on freighters while junior pilots get commands, which is so wrong, but you want to talk.
New Policies on sickness, reserve and ASR-Fs... You are trying to put your failures on us. We did not make this mess, you did, but you wanna talk.
Travel on CX/KA...Slammed us with this one. Thanks for that btw. Lots of us wrote about it, you ignored it but you want to talk.

What have you done to despatch??? We had a nice lounge and ad board but now we basically have nothing. Thank you but you want to talk.

Ms. Thompson, there is nothing to say to you.

Only one person is leaving?

Come on now. I think there's been a few more "retirements"

Why don't we hear of those?

Recently, a Captain with over 30yrs seniority retired.

The company was fortunate to have him go the extra mile in his Command of their aircraft, without incident, for more than a quarter of a century.
He was met after his last flight [circa 2am] at arrivals by two ladies from crew control bearing gifts, personal messages and good tidings. That was significant.

Even more significantly though, he rated a minimal footnote mention in AT's newsletter. She did not attend, nor bother to leave any personal message or RSVP apology for him at his FOP 'luncheon'.

This is, once again, a demonstration of her level of engagement. I'm sure she had a nice weekend.

That was pretty disgraceful.

But then again, what do you expect from someone who makes their way through their career in two year stints.

I know for a FACT it was by special request that he wanted nothing to do with someone who does not know anything about running flight ops and it was specific .......NO PHOTO with non pilots who has no respect for us as confirmed by her actions in cancelling RP's and trying to force in 3 man ULR when the place is a basket case.

To quote Capt Slackbladder, "I found it to be soft, strong and thoroughly absorbent, but I think more can be done for the men's morale by providing real toilet paper".

A small but nice gesture via the company's social media page. No doubt a resounding cannot at CX due IT system constraints and flight deck PED policy.

That QF video brings tears of joy to my eyes. The respect of his Airline, passengers, the Sydney scenic fly by, ATC, fire services for the water canons, etc... after the all of those amazing years. What a wonderful way to say goodbye.

It also makes me sad for the retirement we will receive here in CX. People like our amazing just retired GL, made the airline, made the safety record what it is today, made us all very proud to operate with them over the years. AND NADA. Management should be ashamed.

These are the people who you should be throwing up in bright lights, letting our pax see why we are who we are. Not some embarrassing 7's video with dancing beer bottles and bad music. We not only look stupid, but the idea of a Captain in uniform dancing at some great piss up with beer bottles belittles our professional standing. Not to mention our drug and alcohol policy!

How about the "real" people who made this airline? Gentlemen retiring in a dignified manner. They deserve all our praises and all of our "social media" resources to at least acknowledge what this management team is riding on the backs of.....

There is so much to chew on.....

The Airbus 'Le Croissant' and the soon to be released Boeing 'The Hogie'

Policy and politics simplified to sandwich level!

Dear Ms. Thompson and President Rod. We cannot move on until the "absence program" is addressed first. No RPs until the "program" is rescinded. The DFO constantly throwing it in our face is not a good start.

I hope we don't get sold down the river AGAIN by the AOA because it won't be time to quit the company but the AOA itself. We need to get back what we've given up not keep accepting more reductions. Just let terms and conditions dictate as they seem to be now anyway. Sadly HKPA is exactly a reduction and some how it's become ok. Just like previously mentioned reserve, A days, yada yada yada.

Visionary. Your recent posts always seem to have an insidious slap at the AOA. You start off by having a word or two about the company, then you throw out a threat to 'resign'. The AOA are working their collective arses off to try and improve everyones life. If you aren't actively working towards that, then please, resign. Then at least we won't keep having to read your diatribe against the AOA and your constant 'threats'. You are not helping.

We are where we are because we allowed the AOA to give up quite a number of things in the past. We cannot move forward without looking at the past and the transgressions. It's not a slap but a scream to not let us be tricked yet again. We have seen what has happened to us, the AOAC, the AOAA and the AOAUS. These are all recent events not just past events.

A lot of discussion will include a rolling EFP and/or perhaps more free reserve. Why did we ever let housing go??? HKPA is just the beginning if you do not see that I don't know what else to tell you.

I do not need to belabor ALL of the past issues as most know what they are. As a member I have a voice, maybe you don't like it, that's ok but listen to what I am saying first. We have been tricked so many times it's actually remarkable. Quitting is NOT an option right now but if we give up one more goddam thing I will quit as there will be no more point in staying. All housing will go but that's only if we, as a group, let it.

It's a game, I get it, but if you play, play hard.

I am still wondering what has happened to bypass pay and SHP. Those were top on our current presidents agenda.
