Visiting recruiting in person?

I am visiting a friend in Hong Kong in the coming weeks who is a S/O for Cathay! So far after nearly 2 years he is very happy with the way his career is going there.
I am also seeking a career flying for CX and am aware of the current recruitment bans in place.
My question is, has any one heard of anybody having success obtaining an interview sooner by going in to see the recruiting people in person and putting a face to a name?
I have been told that this has sped up the time it takes to obtain a first interview.
I would also like to find out the email address for Andrea Lucas?
I have seen it posted here before.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated!!
