Safety is our Number One Priority
SCMP
Please ask the Cathay 'spokeswoman' to enlighten us all as to the practical implications of that Mantra that she/they keep repeating.
1. 100 Senior Check and Training Captains have written a letter stating that chronic fatigue is rife in the Airline - NO REACTION.
2. 1100 ASR-F reports are submitted to the CAD - NO REACTION
3. 38% of pilots report that rosters are fatiguing - NO REACTION
4. Rosters are unstable and extreme with way above average sickness rates due to tiredness and stress - NO REACTION
5. Young pilots who are given minimal assistance with housing are frustrated and disillusioned - NO REACTION.
WORDS ARE CHEAP!
Does Cathay Management not think the above points relate directly to the ongoing safety of this Airline? If so, what are they planning? If not, what is the real Number One priority?
Now let me guess...........

Lowkoon,
AT WANTED feedback on Yammer, but since she has it now and doesn't like it she has gone silent with full deflector shields up. Throw in a D&G for good measure. That'll teach you guys not to poke her with sticks.
Guys and Gals,
Let the AOA do the talking. You create the industrial leverage through strict adherence to AOA rules and requests. The selfish, two-faced turds in the association are slowly but surely being weeded out.
PS - Yes MW (selling out your daughter's (LW) career for a buck) and GD (playing both sides), I'm referring to you! There are others. You know who you are, and so do we. Thanks for nothing. Enjoy the rest of your lonely careers at CX!!!

While these people are remunerated for their ability to reduce our terms and conditions and shave safety margins while still regurgitating the mantra "Safety first", we would be naive to think things are going to change, until they find the bottom, or the bottom finds them. For them it is a blip on a spreadsheet, for us it is a major accident or hopefully just an incident.
Even more worrying is the people now in charge with finding that "bottom" line, have zero aviation experience, they have no base line for what is safe, and what isn't. They wont have the hairs on the back of their neck raised when they see something unsafe, we no longer have that final filter that we had when the final word came from an experienced aviator, and in combination they chose this time to significantly reduce the experience of those in the cockpit with you. Be safe, Safety first is down to us.
Nero fiddles.
