The endless talk talk talk
This forum is'nt much different from Yammer ( i imagine) , its a whinge board , just anomynous
What we should really be concerrned about is why we are NOT on STRIKE
We're not even debating it
That says it all about this pilot body
Forever being happy getting flushed down the toilet with no complaints and no ACTION

Who is/are responsible?..take a peek at Swire News..who might the non exec directors be..ex finance Director now non exec..ex hedge specialist...sic!..nice pic of the clowns all sucking up around Barnaby Swire and family..their train set..their responsibility..their accountability....and as an aside..as the Cx product dips further n the quality stakes can I suggest a halt in welcome PA's...the only PA's should be the relevant cabin crew calls.end of..

In the spirit of "One Team One Dream" I have made it my personal crusade to get them out of this hedge position as soon as possible by burning as much as possible

MSNBC with John Slosar's comments on fuel hedging: "...if we knew exactly what [the price of fuel] would be, we'd be very smart."
Maybe Mr. Slosar should talk to the folks at Southwest airline. Southwest took massive fuel hedging position in 2007 and 2008 (upwards of 70-80% hedge), and in 2014, they took the position of minimizing their hedging in 2015 (15-30% hedge only), as their fuel hedging team forecast the fuel price will plummet, which happens they predicted. Southwest is one of the few carriers that consistently make the right bet in their fuel hedging in the last 15 years.

So Mr. Slosar, yes, there ARE VERY SMART people out there, just not the one running cathay pacific at the moment. Clearly the fuel hedging team at CX finance department had no idea how to hedge fuel. We are a joke compare to the fuel hedging team at Southwest.
