Navtech App and IOS 8

Anyone else having issues? Navtech app crashes continuously on my IPad3 after updating to IOS8.

Then again, if my apple device didn't run slower, freeze and generally be more cr@p after updating I would be disappointed..

Why would you even consider putting that rubbish on your personal equipment. If they want us to use this stuff they can supply the hardware!

Because it's free and it makes MY life much easier. If I was out of storage maybe I'd reconsider, but I'm not and I bet you're not either.

Good luck. Boeing operational chat room is being phased out and all info will be on Yammer.

Hi WN. I did actually try to put this waste of space on my ipad some time ago and it would not fit (unless I removed some of my stuff). The take away points are:
1. substandard product missing data or in some cases wrong data (bring back Jepp).
2. some airlines do digital data properly with hardware, internet connection (globally) and company phone if needed. We don't work for one of these airlines.
3. most importantly there is no data control. Guys regularly refer to out of date "company" material. To ensure this you need item 2 sorted out.

Boeing Chat Room, Yammer, Boeing Newsletters, Dropbox, DDIS, Company E-mails, Notices to Crew and Company Manuals. If I could be bothered to review all of them I MAY get some kind of idea of what is going on in the company for which I work.

This is a relief as I thought I was one of the few who didn't subscribe to this Yammer nonsense, as frankly I have better things to so when I'm not working !!!

Sorry buddy but when I upgraded to IOS 8 a few days ago, immediately prior to a long haul, there was no NTC or e-mail indicating any potential problems - and having just returned from leave I hate to dissapoint you by revealing that I don't spent my time off on Yammer. Boeing Newsletter? Are we reading the same newsletter?

First indication of a problem was trying to review alternates and finding the APP crashes continuously.

Of course I'm sure that Navtech was not aware of the fact that Apple was migrating to IOS8, had never considered testing the software with the Beta versions of IOS8 and cx and Navtech had never considered notifying the end users TIMEOUSLY through APPROPRIATE channels such as a NTC. The NTC was issued today - unfortunately I was in the air at that stage and not one of of our crew was aware of any potential issues.

Yammer sounds like a replacement for the Boeing operational chat room. Has anyone ever logged in to this? I'm sure I haven't missed anything there the same way I won't miss anything on yammer.
