Actually he's not far off. It's doesn't take much digging to find T4 is for "budget and full-service regional airlines" with only 4 wide body gates and leveraging modern passenger assistance technology (PR spin for cost saving self service check-in).

Yes, T4 is the new budget terminal, although it will be branded as a 'dual purpose' terminal, catering to full service carriers too.
CX will have a lounge and the lot, yet it all seems to me like Changi needed a major in there to avoid the 'cheap'o-air terminal' tag to stick, and CX jumped on the re-bait (gittit?) they were offered.
I can't see why they would have moved out of the main terminal if it wasn't to save money and give some deserving manager a bonus for it.
But given the number of wide body gates that will be available, we might just feel like 5th graders in a pre-school yard in there.
Now, I'm not against the idea of operational savings, on the contrary, but since most other T4 tenants will be the likes of Tigerair, Jetstar, Silkair, etc, I just wondered what the status-crazed premium punters we rely on to keep us in the black will think about being sent 2km away from the daze and glory of the main terminals and being made to rub shoulders with the riffraff.
It probably won't matter all that much at the end, and even of it does, you're right in saying it's not exactly my most immediate concern.
At least we'll be 2km closer to the hotel...

Don't worry it won't look like the original BT.
It's going to be another Singapore 1st in world,we are No.1,Super show-off terminal.
Combined with the Jewel Mall it will be like Orchard Rd at Changi.
