Getting on flights is impossible....

Has anybody else been trying to get to Australia and found it impossible or nearly so, especially for family when more than one seat needed?

Seems scarcer than hens teeth.

Looks like the same for weeks... Well into mid August. Good luck.

Been that way for the last 6 weeks or so, but it's the yields that you should really be worried about.
Try PAL, no IFE but wide open and bookable through iJourney.

Thai and MH due club class to Oz for 15K.

Not even worth thinking of staff travel.

I have mentioned this before...CX employees are not very creative in regards to staff travel in peak times. Everyone just wants to go directly to their destination - ideally in J or F class - totally understandable but this is the peak season.

Many times people return from A32 without a seat when a bit of thinking outside the box would have enabled their families to fly home.
Walk a few aisles eastbound and there might be a few seats with another airline...another option is (as a previous poster mentioned) to go via somewhere else...when heading south via TPE, Jakarta, Bali, Manila and Port Moresby or even Guam - northbound via DXB, AUH, DME or DOH?

Would be better if 4x PRI 4 FOC to nominated home port was part of the contract for all pilots. Little cost option which would reap tenfold.

Just spent 13K for 2 with SQ to Oz via SIN.

No full fair seats on CX till Monday and they were 23K for 2 full fair one way. So all this talk about yield is bull.

No, the yield is low because the cost base is high. How many useless oxygen thieves in CX city do you think the bottom line includes?
