Bad, bad Pilots!

From the DFO's weekly wrap:-

"It is disappointing that in the first 2 days of the current bargaining session, the parties have managed approximately 40 minutes of time at the negotiating table. The Company was advised that this session would be devoted to Pay and Rostering, yet within minutes of the two negotiating teams getting together, the Company received a letter from the HKAOA declaring an impasse on Pay and seeking agreement to move to Mediation. The Company will have to give some thought as to how Mediation on Pay alone will work, given the topics that still remain outstanding.
This letter was followed by a further accusatory letter complaining about the Company’s lack of commitment to the process. We believe that time would be better spent at the table rather than the AOA Negotiating Committee being distracted by these letters. Nevertheless the Company team remains available and committed to continuing negotiations next week as soon as the AOA team is ready."

And the spin doctoring starts! Of course it is all the pilots fault for the dismal state of affairs in FOP and CX at large. Same sh*t, different day I'm afraid.

Honestly, if you do need to use a VPN, do you really want to work for an employer like that anyway?

This is not a police state...or.....

Well done boys, keep it up. Lots of flights un-crewed.

Fly the contract, no discretion, no concessions. Don't let your elected leaders walk into the room with their guns empty.

I think the biggest and most import part of the weekly wrap up has been overlooked. For those that have not read the wrap up:

Back to the point. I go on R tomorrow, but CC couldn't help themselves. Called today at 11 for a MNL split duty. When I didn't bite at that, they called this evening for a OZ flight. Having not answered the phone, I was left wondering (hoping) that they actually used their R crew for these, ISO trolling for someone to come in on a G day....

As we suggested before, either block or ignore TT. He's nothing.

Dart that's interesting

I was on R the time you got called for mnl.

Not that I care, I don't wanna fly, but it will be interesting to check who did the flights.

What flight numbers were they?

As an FYI guys, just spoke with a guy who went up to CC to sort out a few issues, and he was told straight up that the situation coming up over the next 3-4 days was "unmanageable", and a "major problem". Particularly on the freighter side of things, the wheels are apparently coming off. We have a fully loaded freighter sitting in ANC, pulled over by the pax term. ENG said the plane is fine, NO CREW TO FLY IT!

I hope the AOA and company can come to an agreement. Things are this bad BEFORE contract compliance!

yikes.

If that's the case, boys and girls, then watch out for "mangers" who are called out to fly from the office or sim. Remember that 7.1.18 (Mixed Duties) will apply, so their "on duty" time should be 0845 (0900?) local, not the 3 or 5 or 6 hours later that they are dragged down to dispatch.

ASR if you have ginormous ones, or maybe just a chirp.

PS, If I am posting this from the Street using their wifi, should I be using a VPN??

A recent CP update indicated extra fuel carried had dropped from 1100kg per sector to 300kg. Way to go pilots! Seems this is one definitive way to show what a difference pilots can make to the bottom line.
