What future with CX
Those who know me know where I'm coming from..
My thoughts are this company really is not a career company at all, and never will be again.
Hasn't been for some time, and now the escalation to the bottom has hastened.
So why do people stay? Lots of bleating, chest thumping etc, yet only a modicum of resignations, not akin to natural attrition.
So with ALL of the BS that this wretched company serves.....
WHY are you staying?

Whilst not disagreeing with the essence of your point monster, I will shoot your "fact" of "modicum of resignations" down.
In the 5 years since RA65 was introduced (hence no retirement attrition), 220 pilots have left CX while they have only added 380 numbers to the list. It works out that for every 10 "pilots" CX employs, 4 quit. It's a lower retention rate than Ryanair or Jetstar. Lots are voting with their feet.

Because we are working for the Most Attractive Employer 2014 of the whole Great Honkey-Town! We are working for the company that won Most Caring Company 2010! The company that rolled out their precious red carpet and designed the cutest cardboard for their prestigeous skytrax service award (please include the very useful mug lids to remind us about their achievement during our every breath and sip of water)!
Every breath you take... Every move you make....
This is such a wonderful company, because we work with cabin crew who won't complain and gossip behind us in Cantonese! And don't forget the yummy salmon and caviar! There are so many (edited: a few) passionates who are uber proud of this company, volunteering to work on G days! (And L days!!!) Let us learn from these passionate souls and perhaps learn some lovely Mong Kok language from our coworkers!
This is why I am staying!
Oh, and the fragrant fresh air that is begging me to stay! I am so blessed to have such a big house to raise my healthy family! Please let me stay! I <3 HK!

Your first paragraph was quite funny, however your second paragraph just shows how much of a complete idiot you are. Yes it is ONLY the minority group of pilots who volunteer to work on their Gs and Os. Yes Ofcourse.... At least they don't work on their L during Easter.
... Wish I know who you are so I can slap you with the floppy clipboard.

Now I can go to my helpful doctor to get 10 days off my head injury!
And yes to the point, no matter MINORITY or the PLENTIFUL, those who volunteer are passionate souls, if you will. Nothing wrong with being passionate! My utmost respect for them! This was intended to be a genuine compliment
Back to the title of the thread mate, future with cx lies in the hands of aspiring I Can Fly participants! People, they make the honkey.

If you are 35 or under, surely you do not want to subject the rest of your working life to this utter contemptuous lack of respect that is being demonstrated by our management right now (never mind the past 20 years). I would never allow my son to work here. I am deeply disappointed (but not surprised in the slightest) that the company (and the GMA) have deliberately used this 'good faith' bargaining deceptively to undermine us even further. There is only one option left for us. Resist. Sullenly, passively, determinedly. I will do not a single thing beyond my contracted obligation. I will forever personally shun any colleague who cannot at least do that to help the common good.
