Saw it yesterday. Sadly our lot can't manage salt and pepper shakers let alone pull off anything like this.
Then imagine all the Wogs @ the bag belt stealing each others stuff, and complaining that someone got a better gift than them.
A nightmare to replicate for our Eastern brothers. #CANNOT

It's ok, 4 years from now CX marketing (which is in house) will push this out as a new idea and all the local staff will congratulate them on how wonderful and creative they are
What a PR triumph! Cost of pressies and keen staff and temps: a few grand. Publicity value: priceless. The team/person/people who thought it out and executed it > big Christmas bonus.

If I were Canadian I would go work at WestJet and be a happier person.
"Our culture is about having a little bit of fun. We can run a terrific, affordable, safe, on-time airline but we actually think that's not enough. You need that little extra piece and that little extra piece is having a little bit of fun."
Has anyone ever had any fun at Cathay Pacific? Anyone?
In the meantime, I can cherish my 3.1 gram gold 10-year Cathay Pacific gold coin!

True, all the wasted money on actors and prima donnas doing the adverts, what better way to spend than to actually do something for the pax instead of apologizing. Probably a lot cheaper anyway.

I am simply aghast. Why does it have to center around CHRISTmas? Why can't it just be a holiday gift? Doesn't everyone know that the anti-theists among us are easily offended? There are other things to celebrate during this time of year like Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the death of Christopher Hitchens. WestJet is so insensitive. What, do they think Canada is a Christian nation or something? Insulting! I'm never flying on them again.
Three pilots involved in today's flash mob are all FOs - why on earth they would dance for free on their G day is beyond me...

Sadly the art of irony died an unnatural death about the time the last 1011 left the fleet in 1996!
I am old enough to remember when CX actually had an Xmas party for all the families and Santa would arrive by helicopter to deliver the presents ..and he wasn't even a G Day slut...
Aargh them were the days...when all you got in your left ear on the flight deck was stories of the Hunter and the Buccaneer, Lossiemouth and splashing those RAF tossers in the Lightnings over the Wash And not to mention burying the stiffs at the cemetery in JKT on the way from the George and Dragon to Block M.
Sadly it is a new world and one that I really don't want to be a part of for much longer. Qantas will likely follow in short order.
Merry Xmas ...and always remember...there's no money in freight(as Bam Bam used to say).

I saw both of those videos on my fb page posted by my friends.....
For the cathay one, I couldn't believe any pilots would put his hand up for this sorta crap especially when everyone standing next to them will get a payrise in 2014....what were they thinking???
And for the Westjet one, it's just pure class act
