May apply for Air traffic controller
I'm a Police Officer and have been for nearly 7 years. I'm a fully qualified detective, and have some qualifications (HND in IT, some a-levels, some GCSEs too).
I'm fed up of the job and things are pretty grim at the minute, with a pay freeze for the past 4 years, pension changes, long hours (sometimes 20 hour days) when I never finish on time, etc...
Someone I know, recently left and is now an Air Traffic Controller. I see the pay is very poor for the first 2-3 months during training, then goes to about £20K for the first year, then up to around £35k and then up on the 3 year point.
Is anyone here an ATC, or has any advice, or input on this topic? I've got my CV registered on the NATS site and still just thinking about alternative careers really.
Thanks,
Redrabbit

It's great to see you have put both your a-levels and your detective skills to good use and tracked down this rather elusive AirTraffic forum for astute chappies like yourself.
The water is very warm, come on in!

ATC
To save you any from more ridicule, this is a site for Hong Kong.
You would not get an air traffic control job in HKG in any case - they recruit and train only locals.
NATS is the way to go in the UK.
