Party for Navy Squadron

Gents,

I realize this is a little non-standard question for the Fragrant Harbor thread. I'm a US Navy pilot and I will be hosting a dinner party in HK for my squadron later this year. Back in the day my father was part of Cathay and I recall that a lot of the pilots and families would hire "junk" boats for trips out to Lama Island and back. I was hoping to do the same. Can anyone recommend how to hire one of these boats (for about 20 people) and any good locations on Lama?

Thanks in advance!

You can try Jaspa's junks
Castelo Concepts · Jaspa's Junks
Good party junks with an all inclusive deal - in which case you may not need the restaurant.

If you do want a Lamma restaurant (chinese) you can try Fu Kee Seafood (don't say it too fast) at Sok Kwu Wan. It's in the row near the pier. Tel +852 29828516

Have a great party and if you go to Wanchai afterwards watch your wallets and drinks (for spiking) - rest of HK bar areas don't seem to have this problem.

Go to 'Original Lamma Hilton Restaurant' It has it's own jetty, been going there for 20 years never had a bad meal. It's a few hundred metres from the main drag so less touristy. I wouldn't p*ss on the Fuk Kee if it was on fire! Miserable old bag who runs the place was extremely offensive to my wife for taking photographs - not even of her or her restaurant. I was decent enough to teach her some new English words!

There was a notice on the board at CX a while back offering 20% off for air crew (I'm sure US Navy would count) at Outsider Charters
