Time for a new livery

I know there are far more pressing issues at the moment, the list is too long to mention but who agrees that it's about time the airline had a new look, a new livery? The old one is looking extremely tired and dated, whilst most airlines have mordernised Cathay is still an airline from the 90's in appearance. What do you lot think?

Yes and no, in my opinion. It is pretty old, but I don't think it is especially dated. It is too simple a livery to really date...

I'd personally like to see a refresh, but as we all know, even their newest products, as good and modern as they may be, are all about conservatism in appearance; None of this nonsense that looks like a bull covered itself in glue and ran through a cheap catalogue jewellers - that you see in the Middle East.

As long as they don't let them turn black, a la HKA!!

The CATHAY PACIFIC could be a lot BIGGER and relocated to above the wing line like the 747.

Changing the livery...well that wouldn't hurt provided they get rid of all the filler and instant airframe before they spray over the current multi layers of paint.

I am more concerned about the change of cabin crew uniforms. In other airlines that is a sure sign that they are going broke.

Another idea might be to simply resign and then you can pick any livery out there. Well, that's my plan anyway.

Frankly they can paint them all purple up in Xiamen as far as I am concerned. The only proviso I have is that if they want me to fly one out after a paint job...I get an good hour to check all the orifices.

KA getting a new one? Will it be cimilar to the Cx one the same way that their cabin crew uniforms are now visibly similar to CX's ones?

I agree, the Cathay Pacific titles are tiny. If anyone doesn't recognise our tail logo and needs to read off the titles to see who we are then forget it.

A refresh was actually planned back around 2008 but the economy went sour and all non-essential programmes were shelved including the refresh.

Yes they are still very different but you can tell the new uniforms have been done by the same designer with the CX uniforms in mind. If the crews were all standing together in a group you could tell they are linked as opposed to the current uniforms which are totally different.

In a nod to the history of the major shareholders, perhaps is worth changing that flick logo thing to a stylized Opium Poppy?

With the current HK wave of nostalgia for times past I think we should bring back the Lettuce Sandwich piant job and Love's Theme as the boarding music!

OK maybe this time we could use
"British Racing Green" instead Ol "Kermit the Frog" green but it was a very distinctive scheme. No mistaking CX anywhere on the airport and Loves Theme had a very soothing effect on the pax when doing an IGS is a typhoon!

Let's also bring back the 70's mini skirt Cabin Crew uniform

How about a nice tactical grey for Dragon? That would eliminate the need to wash the Chinese stains off.

You can have a new livery if you give the company a rolling 3 months EFP in JFK!

When the Brushwing was introduced:
Bas: "If you put an eye on the front you'd give it a little head."
FE: "I wish someone would give me a little head!"

(Hope all's well in The Sandpit, Jon )
