Loss of income insurance

Im looking around for some decent LOI insurance, that does not treat us like an ATM machine...if there is such a beast.

The LOI from tne AOA is not sufficent, with only 5 years cover. If you suffer a stroke and cannot work at all, after 5 years you go and live under a bridge somewhere and collect food stamps.

I currently have Comminsure cover to age 60, but over the last two years, the premiums have gone up by roughly 40%!!!

At the age of 43 for 12,000 Aud cover per month, my premium is close to $ 6500 per annum.

If i may ask what other option are there and also what are you guys paying for this cover?

Thanks

Some of us in Europe use APPN (the one used by all Air France pilots).
PNT Contracts
Better if you joined the scheme relatively young, but not bad even if you're a bit older.
They partially refund the premiums almost every year, depending on the number of lost licences.

Otherwise, there is the one from CX, in rightchoice.
Covers half of your salary until retirement, but excessively expensive.

fly123,

Thank you for the information.

Is this a loss of license or loss of income insurance, or is this the same thing?

Do you need to live in Europe to have it?

Loss of income for 3 years I think, and loss of licence on top.
I think that if I don't get my licence back after 3 years, I might as well have lost it forever. But that's personal.

Don't think you need to live in Europe. They are happy if you work for Cathay and have a valid medical. Just ask for their information package and see for yourself.
