That's definitely true, the global economy will inevitably take a massive dump very soon, I can see your point there.

Who give a F@$% about fuel burn?

This hunk of junk is a pain in the ass to fly. It's annoyingly noisy, the VNAV descent doesn't work properly, the FMCs are ridiculously slow, it takes tricks to get the CPDLC to log-on, the radar in auto tells lies and the galley is an unmitigated disaster.

OK, its got grunt, its miserly on fuel, the brakes are amazing and the flight controls are a dream, but what has Boeing EVER done for us?

Noisy? Yes, ECS getting better, but still too loud.
VNAV? Works fine for me, but I never use VNAV below 10K.
FMC? Getting better...
CPDLC? Works fine with new FMC updates
Radar? Mostly fine, certainly better than most manual efforts. Just have to understand how it works.
Galley? The sh!ts. Heard we have no one to blame but our own Mark 8 for that.
Grunt? For sure. GENXs are really nice.
Fuel? Same burn carrying 25% more than -400ERF. Seems pretty good to me.
Flight controls? Make hand flying a lot more fun than the -400.
Brakes? Yes, work very well with or without reverse. GENX reversers are very reliable as well.

The 747-8 passenger is a dying program. No one is buying it!

You keep saying that. I keep saying... Just wait. One of us will be saying I told you so. I think it has a chance as the latest improvements return it to its original specs. We'll see. If original spec can't garner sales, then it was a marketing mistake even bringing the Intercontinental to market.

Contraction in Europe and a slowing China do not help anything in the VLA category, B748I or A380. I noticed that Airbus has A380s available in 2015 as well.

You've got to be joking!

VNAV? Works fine for me, but I never use VNAV below 10K.
FMC? Getting better...
Somehow that's ok on a 40 year old "plane"??

Got bumped to economy on a 777 the other month. First time in economy on the 777. It was the sh-ts. The noise level was unreal and the stupid seat config. of 3-3-3 was bad. I feel sorry for pax on a UHL. No wonder travellers always try and go on the airbus and especially the 380.

Thank goodness the company are announcing they are buying 10 x 380's in June at the Paris airshow. It doesn't matter about fuel burn or cargo... the people have spoken and its 380 they want. What the people want they will get.

Boeing missed a trick in not recruiting cxorcist as their worldwide head of sales.
