The next round of negotiations between the company and the Canadians will include discussions of a separate seniority list for those on a Canadian base. The Canadian pilot bases are going to become autonomous, much like how the based cabin crew already operate. Base openings will go to those on the new list first before being offered to the rest of the pilot body.

The company will close 30 or so freighter positions in YVR but there will be 30 or so spots mysteriously appear in YYZ. Those 30 or so positions will not be open for anyone in Hong Kong.

Much like Amsterdam, the YVR freighter pilots will just transfer to YYZ.

AOA-C will not want to follow the seniority system because it will not benefit some of their members, this time.

If this is true I assume that if any of them ever got forced back to HKG they would go to the bottom of the CX seniority list.

Is is clearly a wind-up, or wishful thinking by those pilots looking at potentially following in the Paris base footsteps.

A separate union doesn't equal a separate company.
