notice of roster change by email!?
What's the deal here? My friend recently got an email from crew control to his hotmail account about a roster change from an early morning 7am sign on time to an even earlier reserve duty which starts at 6am.

I assume that account is registered with them either in his contact details, or for roster delivery.
Only email they have of mine is my groupwise.
Either way, ignore it. It's not a legal notification

Yes. Just ignore it. The only way to get a roster change is via crew direct or by voice. If this email thing is true, they are clutching at straws. If you are thick enough to acknowledge via personal email, you deserve anything you might receive.
They are still scrounging around for crews on G days. And they continue to fill seats with willing G day workers. G day workers are a bunch of self serving selfish pricks who are costing their fellow crew members thousands of dollars And don't even go there with the 'AOA hasn't recommend not to work G day' excuse.

It has been months since I was asked to work on a G day , then again it has also been roughly 18 months since I did some overtime!
Next month my roster is again at 83.5 hours

Unfortunately unless there is a mechanism whereby those selfish G day workers cannot double their salaries every month, there will always be a queue of people willing to work.

Ah, the usual suspects trying to cyber-bully people who work G-days I see.
Nearly everything you do in CX or any other airline will have a deleterious effect on a co-worker:
If you have more seniority and select a plum trip for yourself then someone more junior won't get it... is this selfish?
If you have more leave points and want a popular week then someone with less points will suffer... is this selfish?
If you have more flexibility in your life then working a G-day may help you at someone else's expense... is this selfish?
If you ask for Christmas off, if you take a basing (ho ho!) etc etc...
All these things are choices and all work on a system voted on by our members and agreed by our union. None of them are perfect systems but those of you who take your anger out on people who are simply working to our agreed rules just demean yourselves and our profession.
There's a thread here somewhere that does this particular point to death so please resurrect it if you wish, but most of us have made our own minds up by now and are sick of reading the snide drivel espoused by the bully boys every chance they get.
