QANTAS RIPE FOR THE PICKING

Curious how the worlds best CEO - Alan Joyce, has managed to bring the great Ozzie Icon QANTAS, down to it's lowest share price ever. So now it's ripe for a take over, and potential bidders include our one and only Cathay, along with Emirates and Etihad, so the rumour goes.

Pease discuss the ramifactations of Cathays bid for the flying rat.

It depends on what the rumour says they are bidding for. QF International (supposedly a basket case), QF Domestic (mildly successful as it's a big land mass and there is no real competition), or JetStar, the low-cost 'Orange Cancer'?

There are some characters in QF International who would make our most tense and pedantic Aussie checker look like he was on Valium. And as far as the pilots are concerned, the three entities above are polluted to various extents by ex-domestic pilots who let their mates down, and foreign 'encrustations' invited into the country, in the 'year that dare not speak its name', particularly QF Domestic; these boys were let onto the combined QF seniority list without a murmur when the domestic airline, 'Australian' was merged into the Rat. And the upper echelons of the Cancer in particular are full of 'blue shirters', the ex-Ansett 'heroes', the lower ones with pilots who fly for food.

And would the same CX managers who organised the Australian onshoring debacle be running any takeover bid? Even my sympathies would be with QF if that was the case.

And Australia is the end of the line. There is nothing past its meagre population of 20 million people except McMurdo Base in Antarctica. One would have to ask, 'why'?

Haha......
What happened when their CEO shut them down? Nothing
What happened when they farmed all the maintenance overseas? Nothing
What happened when they employed slave third world labour to crew jet star..... Nothing
What happened when what's happening as he murders QANTAS? Nothing
What will happen if anybody else buys QF....? Nothing.
How did the labour voting Aussies stand up to every bank, phone company, insurance company shutting down call centers in Oz, shedding jobs, and engaging third world countries in their place?? They didn't.. So much for a Labour government.

Well there is always the option of snapping up enough shares at a bargain price to get a seat or two at the table - from that vantage point CX can then do whatever it takes to steer the future course of QF et al away from HK.

Hey Dan, I resemble that remark!

And just to prove it:
Frogman & crw it has been the Australian Labor (rather than Labour) Party since 1912. Since certain Labo(u)r figures of the time were great admirers of the USA - a bit of embarassing history to swallow.

Hasn't stopped them from being the worst Govt. ever.

QF hoist Gillard with her own petard when AJ shut down the airline. Tricky QF lawyers manipulated Labor's own telephone book sized "Fair Work Act" to get the outcome they needed.

Employment laws in Oz are more of a lawyers & bureaucrats picnic than anything else
