I believe its an issue with a poor batch of flap rods from one particular vendor that break and then flap damaged is the result. There's another -8F operator that is now having the same issue

A mate who flies the -800 with another operator has been stood down for two days.
Apparently a worldwide grounding of the -800 til the parts have been replaced.
Anyone confirm????

Dont think there's been a grounding. Boeing have issued an MOM to operators to order replacements, inspect the rods (physical and NDT?) and replace as required. Being pedantic there's no such thing as a -800, its an -8i/-8F

Just got off the phone GC and according to him Vandelay Industries just came out with a modified transfer tube. Supposedly it should fix the problem with cracks in the old tubes. The reason for cracks were old latex from the molds somehow managed to corrupt the TI tubes.
