Cheap hotels/rooms close to HKG
Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel or motel suitable for occasional pre flight rest and not too much of a commute to the airport.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies. Looking to spend no more than HKG$3000 pcm for a basic bed and room. Preferably close to airport or near to MTR. Is that doable?

Stayed at the Airport Regal last week, $690 HKD a night for crew rate, however, this rate is not always available. Normal rate about 2000 HKD. Watch out front desk assistant Christi and her supervisor Dennis Wong...tricky dishonest staff who'd change your rate in the system without letting you know about it!

Thanks. Yes that pretty much checks out with the internet research I have done. Looks like I will have to rent further out and charge up the Octopus card.

Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong has a flatshare, own room (seen the picture, basic, clean and tidy) $2700 plus bills.
I'm only looking for somewhere to shower, sleep and generally crash out. I'll only need it 3 or 4 nights a month but thought it might work out cheaper than paying for hotac.

The Price of Real Estate
I hope all of you wannabee iCadets are out there reading this thread.
Here's a guy who is looking to spend $3000 HK/mth for a small crash pad. Convert that into your own currencies, and think about what that will get you at home. Now re-read the thread, and think about what it gets you in HK.
And whilst you're reading the thread, notice what you will need to fork out for something marginally decent.
