Premium Eco

Just saw on CX's website we can now buy premium eco tickets..

Was curious to check out the prices to heathrow in mid april.

Round trip prices:

eco: 15,700$
p/e: 35,800$
biz: 40,600$

is premium really that good that people wouldn't want to spend an extra 5k on biz?

So compared to last year, I now have to pay last year's business price to get a mere premium Eco seat and a modicum of extra amenities over Eco.

Do they think I am daft or are they?

I do despair of the morality of the modern airline marketing departments...

CX is funny that way.. just bought full fare business on Thai to Australia for 16,000 ish on Thai.. CX wanted thousands more.. Thai's service is MILES ahead..

I also fly EK a lot. (paid F and J)

CX.. use some of those profits and buy a clue.. unless I'm getting on for next to nothing, I'm not paying for the sub par product.

At the end of day, our loads are fairly good as are the yields. Thats all they care about. What happens on other airlines is, to them, completely irrelevent as long as they are happy with our own yields. They have always held this arrogant view although you can't argue that it hasn't worked for them!

For some strange reason, I thought that premium eco was designed to try lure eco pax to spend a bit more for extra comfort... Although I now think that if someone can afford Premium Eco, they'd be a fool to not "invest" a tiny bit more for biz....(considering what they'd already be paying for prem-eco)

Im looking fowards to seeing the pictures of the new class...
