RC Helis in DB??

Is anyone flying electric RC helis in DB. If so what and where? I've got a Trex 450 Pro and interested in flying with likeminded fliers

I'm new to helis, but have been flying RC fixed wing stuff here for a few years.
Recently got into T-Rex 450 and 500.

We usually fly in a bit of a clearing on the road to the lookout (halfway up to the golf course). The cannot squad tried to do their thing for a while, but gave up. Also fly at the Marina but only when the wind is light, as there are quite a few trees.

If you don't have a golf buggy, you can get to the lookout road by taxi but you may have to walk back down when you're done, because mobile 'phone coverage is rubbish up there. A problem if you're on standby too.

PM me for more details.

RC Flying..

Gas helis... shoiza.. thats serious. Should go for the Brushless mod.

Wings.. try windrider in hk. Near radar hobbies. its windrider dot com dot hk. call and speak to Ming. He is a good bloke. stay away from the 2212 scorpian motor he sells as it easilly breaks prop shafts and pulls 65A. .so the 55A esc that is recommended fails after about a month.. Use 4 cells not 3.. can swing a bigger 4 bladed prop 10x6 for very low noise. I use 2x5500 2 cell packs flush mounted in the wing. get about 45mins of flying time.

One thing with wings.. .change it to a 3 or 4 blade prop.. otherwise they make a terrible noise..like a chainsaw. with 3 or 4 blades they are virtually silent in cruise. and from 200m.. no noise. Best keep the hikers happy. Gas choppers.. best stick to weekdays.

If you get off at the lookout road and cross the main road heading away from the lookout.. there is a great patch of flying space about 100m walk into the brush - walk East.. you will see a nice patch of flat rock 8mx 5m. and plenty of long grass for the "landing".. away from the public for landing.. Only fellow RCers and very interested Joe public will stroll through the grass to ask where they can buy one..

Happy flying..
