CSL Mobile Phone Package

Has anyone taken up the CSL mobile phone contract on 'Staff Offers'? How is the coverage? Are you pleased with the package? Does it beat the '3' package in all respects?

I signed up with CSL (1010) 3 weeks ago because I was not happy with the coverage of 3. In my flat in Midlevels I often have no service on my iPhone 4 so I gave CSL a try and in my opinion the coverage and speed of the network is much better. Not to mention that the customer service seems much better to me as well. I am still on contract with 3 for 35 more months but I was desperate for better coverage and service. So to sum it up, I am very happy so far with CSL and think if your contract with 3 is up, they would be definately work trying out.

Reception in Lantau is excellent. There is only one section in San Shek Wan where there is no reception.

I guess I should have been more specific. This could go on forever now.

I've been using CSL for a month or so now. Was with 3 for years before that. CSL is vastly better than 3 in every respect. Coverage around CX City and Headland is excellent. Sign up for corporate package and you won't regret it!

SmarTone is the WORST! Frequent dropped calls, poor reception around HK Island.

Had a contract with PCCW. The reception was OK, but customer service is poor if you have any problems.

I wanted to sign up to the CSL Corporate deal and at the time (couple of months ago) the site said that "this deal has been withdrawn" or words to that effect

Smartone works fine for me. I have had an i-phone contract for 2 years. Reception fine throughout Hong Kong (including Lantau). Never had a dropped call.

1010 CSL in Discovery Bay

If you live in the Plaza sector or in Headlands, then you have decent but not great coverage. HOWEVER, if you live anywhere else in DB especially if you face Victoria Harbour, 1010 CSL is a horrible choice.

My experience with their "Customer Service" and also the "Senior HKG Management" is best summed as "lies, lies and more lies." They are long on hollow promises but strikingly short on solutions.

Having lived in HKG for some time, I have yet to find a reliable mobile phone provider who also will fix problems as they arise which is shocking as HKG is allegedly a "Top 10 International City" who lives by the mobile phone.
