If they offered an appropriate contract for new hires in HK, they might have been able to fill a few of the 300+ positions that CX is short. No new bodies in the bottom means they can't afford to move guys through the process. No new SO's eventually means no new CN's as there is nobody to replace you as you move up.

Absolutely no excuse for this. If we start hiring and training DECs, the wheels had better stop turning at this place or we will prove once and for all how truly spineless we are as a pilot group. AOA will have no excuse for non-action.

if this is a mistake, they went to great lengths to make it 2012 right.

An applicant must possess the right to live and work in the chosen Base Area. The Company will not sponsor applications to immigration authorities for Flight Crew to live and work in any port other than Hong Kong.

It's not "direct" entry command, it's "rapid" entry command.
They'll just tell the guys they have to join as F/O (or S/O), without ever getting housing, then they'll fail their "rapid" command course, and voila, how you get cheap new experienced F/O's.

Ok it is still there, not on the careers home but if you click on
it is there. This has got to be incompetent IT and not an add for direct entry captains. Although even DEFO with guys doing 4+ years as SOs is unacceptable.
